Running experiment on a single computer

Hi Chris,

I have a question of how you would advise displaying a task:

How should we display the task if we have two monitors hooked up to the
computer we're running the experiment on? I know that with two computers,
the server and client can be set up on different computers and done that
way, but what if we have one computer and want to continue seeing the
controls on one monitor while using the entirety of the second to display
the task?

Thank you,
Yvonne

    Hi Yvonne,

You just need to configure MWServer to use the second monitor as the stimulus display. Open the preferences window, select "Display", then, from the "Display stimuli on" drop-down menu, select "Display 2". You'll probably also want to check "Always show mirror window", which gives you a small copy of the stimulus display on the main display.

    Cheers,
    Chris

    Hi Chris,

Thank you! We actually ended up figuring it out yesterday afternoon, but I
forgot to let you know. We ended up having to also use the
"setup_variables_two_monitors" file as the "setup_variables" file in order
to get this to work correctly.

    Best,
    Yvonne
